The purpose of The Promise of Leadership is to identify ideas of leadership. Many consider the term leadership as getting others to do what you want or what is needed. The concepts or ideas of being an anointed leader or an appointed leader are from my observation, perspective, and experience. Additionally, the purpose of this book is for the reader to obtain a common sense understanding of leadership as an art and a science. The examples, situations, and perspectives mentioned here are a result of my experiences and observations with all levels of managers and leaders in private industry, the church, and the federal sector.
